HELMICH SNIJDERS HILLSIDE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

The Helmich Snijders Hillside Christian School has been our home base since our inception in 1974, and will continue to serve us as we live out the vision. With the new school campus in Cay Hill completed, the campus in St. Peters is in the process of restructuring.

The property measures a total of St. Peters 8,810 m2.

The St. Peters campus presently has 11 permanent classrooms, a gym hall, numerous offices, bathrooms and storage spaces which have undergone a series of repairs over the past years. In July 2016, the school board began demolishing of the historical buildings to make room for a new state of the art building. In September 2017, we were forced to move into the almost completed first floor as Hurricane Irma blew off three of our classroom roofs. On Mr. H. Snijders 80th birthday on March 23, 2018, we moved the three remaining Cycle Two classes into the new building. In August 2018, the newly constructed office building and Early Stimulation Class were put into use. The renovations to the gym hall were completed in June 2019.

With the establishment of the Helmich Snijders Campus as the first Dutch DigiKidz school in May 2016 and the regular use of technological devices that require internet access, the need for additional bandwidth from our local internet providers became necessary. In December 2018, TELEM added another 50 Megs of bandwidth to the school.

ASHA STEVENS HILLSIDE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

The Asha Stevens Hillside Christian School in Cay Hill is a

state-of-the-art building consisting of sixteen classrooms, an early childhood classroom, canteen, a separate gym hall, a resource room, staff room, a Library, a Dutch room and other rooms to facilitate learning. The gym hall is also used for general activities and is rented out to various community organizations occasionally.

Once we moved into the building in August 2012, a number of defects were discovered such as cracks in the walls, water seeping through a number of windows during heavy rain falls. All maintenance work is performed on a regular basis according to the 20-year maintenance plan prepared by Pream Architects. The property measures a total of 6088 m.

In September 2017, Hurricane Irma took off the roof of the office building, and during that time other areas at the school were used as offices. The school board used their own funds to do the much needed repairs and decided to replace the exposed rafters with a concrete roof.

With the Asha Stevens Campus being a DigiKidz school since 2014 and the regular use of technological devices that require internet access, the need for additional bandwidth from our local internet providers became imperative. In February 2019, TELEM added another 50 Megs of bandwidth to the school.
